I've once started to create a 3D version of the cover of the famous #LEGO Train Ideas Book (7777). I've used #LDCad for modeling, #LDrawImport to import it into #Blender and #fSpy for perspective matching. It's still WIP and probably will be forever given my lack of Blender expertise (and time, of course).

Question: how can I make the train lights appear on? I've tried an emissive material, but since in reality the transparent elements are illuminated from behind that didn't look right.

This is the second model of #LEGO set 387. Like the first one it was modelled in #LDCad and rendered #Blender with the default environment of the importer plugin.

I believe that #LEGO set 387 (from the year 1976) is my first one ever. I’ve rebuilt the excavator from that set using #LDCad and rendered it with #Blender. As you can see there’s a rendering defect at the front bucket arm probably due to overlapping geometry. Maybe I’m able to fix that later. Also the gears are rendered flat instead of smooth. I’m not sure why that is. Perhaps the importer struggles with parts that ancient.
