Tuomas Väisänen 📼🧟♂️Quite many from @digigeolab were at the #LBS2025 conference last week presenting our work on #Mobility #GIScience #Geography and #GeoAI, and we wrote a small blog post on it.
Following that is @tadusko presenting his work on the rise and fall of Flickr and use of its data in #GIScience at the #LBS2025 conference.
Key takeaway is that #Flickr is highly biased data produced in the Global North by a select few highly active users, but widely used in research because it is the only major social media platform that still allows data collection using its API. The question remains whether the data should be used.

The 19th Location Based Services conference #LBS2025 is about to start in #Espoo at #AaltoUniversity.
I am presenting tomorrow, so today I get to chillax 😎 We have a very good representation from @digigeolab
I gotta say, my revised abstract to #LBS2025 became a lot better after comments (and, to be honest, more time to bake the analysis).
I still have some ideas on how to progress it even further, but I am rather happy with it already!

I will be presenting my work on #StudentMobility and an #EdgeBundling tool.
This year Location-based Services is in Espoo, so I can just ride the metro there. Travel budget will be around €15. Good times.

The 19th Conference on Location Based Services (LBS) will be held in Espoo, Finland from May 7th to 9th, 2025.
There are several topics in the conference ranging from big data analysis, ubiquitous positioning and context modelling to location privacy and digital humanities.
