I spent 3 hours with teacher Evita who studies Masters' in Maori weaving, but all of us had to finish our kete at home.

We learnt how to extract fiber of the harakeke bush first and then weaved a "fishnet" pattern basket to carry groceries.

Process of harvesting harakeke leaves requires to follow tikanga (protocols) and process of weaving brings people together.
