Here’s my #Recipe for my #Winter #Lunch that I’m gonna repeat until I get sick of it for this part of my #WeightLoss #Obesity #Recovery journey.

#MealPrep: Roast whatever starchy veg you want. I’m gonna make a roast dinner for my family once per week and cook enoug veg for my lunches. This time I’m using #Potato #Kūmara (#Sweetpotato ) and #pumpkin but I also like #Yam #Swede #Carrot #Parsnip and #beetroot.

Pre chop spinach or silverbeet.

On the day:
Microwave a bowl of roast veggies.
Add 1-2tbsp butter or olive oil to a pan. Then add #Tofu or #Egg and #Spinach or #Silverbeet. Add whatever herbs or spices you feel like, but if you need ideas, try:
-Onion and garlic powder
-Cajun spice mix
-Cumin and corriander powder
-Soy sauce, garlic and sesame oil.
(I’m also open to #Suggestions)

Put the fried stuff on top of the microwaved veggies. Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!

A monster 2.8 kg kumara i dug out of my garden this afternoon. A nice surprise! #garden #kumara #food
February in NZ brings the joy of harvesting kūmara (sweet potato), a treasure from our gardens! 🍠 Rich in history & flavor, these sweet potatoes remind us of the blend of traditional & modern in our meals. Let's savor the taste of Aotearoa! #NZGardening #FebruaryHarvest #Kumara

I am #experimenting with #cooking, making twice-cooked (par-boiled and then roasted in pork fat) #chips out of #Kumara (sweet potato for you non-kiwis) and #Carrot since tomorrow is shopping day, we are out of #potato and they’re both needing using.

#cook #experimental

Seven months after planting out, I harvested 7.5 kg of #Kūmara (#SweetPotato) out of the #garden. At current Woolworths' prices, that's about $30 worth or about 20x my initial investment! Not bad from one store bought kūmara!🍠

_The Evening Post_, 6 April 1925:
“CLEAR BREACH OF LAW”
MAGISTRATE’S DECISION REVERSED.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
GREYMOUTH, 4th April.
An interesting reserved judgment was given to-day by Mr. Justice #MacGregor in the case in which the police appealed against the dismissal by the Magistrate (Mr. Meldrum) of a charge against Charlotte Lewis, licensee of a #Kumara hotel, for refusing accommodation to F. King, a #Prohibition lecturer.
Mr. Justice MacGregor stated that no valid reason was given for refusing accommodation, and the real reason seemed to be the fact that King was a Prohibition agent. That was not a valid reason in law, however distasteful the supplying of such accommodation was to the licensee. King was a member of the travelling public, and the licensee was bound to supply lodging for the night. A clear breach of the law was made, and the licensee should have been convicted. The Judge expressed surprise that the Magistrate had not convicted, as it was difficult to imagine a clearer case of refusal.
The case was remitted to the lower Court, and costs of the appeal, £10 [ca. $1200 today], were allowed to the police.
