I give you a very angry one-legged morning bird, who did *not* get the worm...arrrh.
The common myna-bird have this yellow mask, making him look like a crook from a cartoon.
Of course it had to be a one legged pirate-version of them.
This one and partner lived at the roof of my hut, bure, in Kuata Island. Since they are some noisy b**tards, I was sure to be waken at sunrise when the couple decided the day had begun. It was like living with a duo of very unpleasant alarm clocks.
This morning he looked particularly grumpy and angry. And to get a good shot of him was a great start of the day for me. So I forgave him for waking me up early.
The Mynah-bird originates in India, but has followed humans intentionally out to most of Asia, Oceania and Zealandia. Aggressive and highly adaptable to new environments like urban areas, it is one of the most invasive species in the world. In some countries like Oz they are considered a biohazard and a threat to local fauna.
