This kōwhai is late to flower, but it’s worth the wait 😍 The birds and insects love it too!

I planted it and the tī kōuka (cabbage tree) nearby over 20 years ago and it is honestly one of the most rewarding things I ever did.

If you ever have the opportunity to plant a tree, please do. If it’s in a place you can visit and see it grow to maturity, even better!
