The #Soyuz1 mission launched on #ThisDayInHistory in 1967, carrying cosmonaut #VladimirKomarov, a veteran of the earlier #Voskhod1 mission, into orbit. Its landing parachute later failed and killed him on reëntry, making #Komarov the first in-flight fatality of the #SpaceRace.
