@Kodi anyone having an issue with Kodi on mobile device? After my Pixel 8 Pro update for Android 16, March, the app opens but the screen is black. I can hear the "back" sound when doing the back gesture but black screen. I've deleted cache, deleted data and then uninstalled and installed again. Same result. #kodi

OS is Kubuntu 24.04, fresh install on Lenovo Yoga 7, Aura edition, with gen 13 Intel Core 7 cpu. 1 user created, member of sudo, video, audio, plugdev groups. Tried Kodi installs from official Ubuntu

My findings so far. I do not own any of this device:

- Vero V, based on #osmc that is based on #kodi, £149, UK
- Waipit(.)tv, Android based. A few devices in different form factors, different pricing. DE
- MagentaTV from Telekom, Android based. The same as above - different generations and sizes. DE

I have some doubts about Android due to Google. From another side do not have a lot of experience with kodi.

Zooi ... Maar weer eens Kodi uit de kast gehaald in combinatie met deze app uit de F-droid collectie.

Werkt lekker makkelijk.
Gewoon 'delen naar...' en klaar.

Es gibt noch TV-Geräte ohne "smarte"-Funktionen? - Cool!

Ich mag weder die Bedienberflächen von Smart-TV, noch die Datensammelei der Hersteller.

Ich nutze einen Raspberry-PI mit #libreelec und #Kodi als Zuspieler. Da alles so einrichten wie ich will, inklusive Einbindung lokaler Inhalte.

Da wird mehrfach die altbackene Oberfläche, die Ordner- bzw. Listenansicht von Kodi, im Vergleich zu den kommerziellen US-Produkten bemängelt.
Einfach mal sich ernsthaft mit #OpenSource hier #Kodi, auseinandersetzen und das passende Skin wählen.

@itsfoss i stopped using #KODI entirely, after i noticed unwanted/unexpected behavior like spying thru some external services, storing/locking out media . I don't want software that is not respecting my freedom and rules. The times where KODI was a trustful reliable media player are LONG GONE.
