A not so #SilentSunday where I just recorded a quick live stream walking through my film processing workflow in Darktable and the resulting photo (I'll likely reprocess).
I want to make a more structured video down the line but wanted a quick practice today and NOTHING worked. I couldn't find my scans so I rescanned the strips which is way more painful and then no fruitful combination of my camera/audio/desktop/laptop/obs combo would work but at this point I was too stubborn to give up. Apologies for the audio quality if you do watch it: https://makertube.net/w/wioAL4ux6knqWCXZamQn1m

That's no lo-fi filter and brushes creating an effect for scratches and sprocket hole marks, that's just a really scratched and dirty negative and terrible exposure. I mean, it's all intentional art!

Stuff just keeps piling up, processing older photos is an escape.
I normally keep the aspect ratio of the medium in my crop but trying an homage: "Dayhawks" (only if you squint hard, forget what Nighthawks looks like, and are really stretching your imagination).

This negative looks all beat up and scratched up by the bear. Not sure what happened (๐ป). I'll try to clean and scan again maybe but not sure where the scratches would have come from.

Shot exactly two years ago and finally developed last week. I love the havoc of colors that come from light leaks. You get double the fun on self-loaded film since you can catch something funky at the beginning and the end of the roll since I use a daylight loader. This was shot on Vision3 500 Tungsten-light balanced film without a warming filter on a very cool/gloomy day so the burst of warm color was a nice surprise.
