New knowledge of the day: my kid's poor battered #KoboMini will not charge off our charging station. It slowly *drains* battery instead! Seems to be charging nicely off the computer though. Phew.

(It's a miracle it charges at all with how battered its charging port is. Someday I need to find someone capable of properly repairing it - it probably just needs the charge port resoldered and maybe a newer battery while it's opened up - but I do not have the tools, knowledge, free time, or inclination to do it myself.)

Welp, tried to unplug a tight USB cable and I managed to break off the charging port inside the unit! (It's on an ancient #Kobo eReader - a #KoboMini - but that's my kid's beloved Kobo and if it stops working, it's my head on a platter.)

Luckily the thing still charges if held in a very specific way, but I better start looking for an upgrade before it's all held together with three screws and wishful thinking. Sigh. Better make sure I can find a matching SleepCover too.
