Koala dies after allegedly being dragged behind vehicle down a street
"A rope was tied around the animal's neck and the other end was looped around a vehicle's tow ball, before the animal was dragged along the road."

World-first evidence that #conservation decisions can’t rely on static measures of genetic #diversity

A landmark finding that suggests koala genetic diversity not the only deciding factor in successful regrowth of populations. Study in Science from Cesar Australia and the University of Sydney shows that less genetically diverse koala populations in the south of the country are better positioned to grow post the 2019-20 bushfires than the more diverse populations further north.
