Asked at my favourite pcb source #Pcb4Diy for a small batch of the front plate circuit board of the #KneisnerM100. They have used a modified one with several incompatibilties when using original cpu board.

A short idea of mine. Based on the serial number of our #KneisnerM100, I'd guess it was manufactured in October 1978. It starts with 7810 and a following 01 at the end. I don't think they manufactured and sold 1001 of them in 1978. Would you agree?

But after a complete full compile of the whole directory the switching to turbo mode works now.
So, at least I've been able to address one of the two outstanding issues today. Tomorrow I'll be back at the museum to see if I can convince the move-it software to transfer a file using an old 486 and a real serial port.

The #KneisnerM100 has finally arrived in its natural habitat. Even though it takes up quite a bit of space, it's found a nice spot next to its successful Z80 successors from England. It also survived transport in the car well and is now booting its #TurboDOS smoothly.

The little #RC2014 #Z180 computer is finally running. I had some initial difficulties because power via the serial-to-USB adapter was a bit weak. With an external power supply, it's now running rock-stable. And believe me, it's much more faster than the #KneisnerM100 😀

The crystal oscillator will, of course, be replaced with a smaller one. This is a bit experimental at the moment ;)

Both cases of the #KneisnerM100 are fully closed and #TurboDOS system is running fine from HDD. Also I adjusted the monitor view sizes inside the the #TeleVideo VTI-912C terminal.

Finish and mission accomplished

What a beauty the #KneisnerM100 has become. My daily work would be called "case modding" nowadays ;) It literally appears in a completely different light now ;) Tomorrow I'll be working on the expansion box, so after a year and a half, I can tick off this exciting project.
If any of you are coming to the HNF in Paderborn in October: The current plan is to bring it to the RCT at 11th & 12th of October 2025.

This is the first exklusive preview to the new housing of the #KneisnerM100. A German relabeled #Imsai8080.
Last steps to do is to mount all components properly and some electrical wiring for fan aso.

Design export picture of the new case for the #IMSAI8080 clone called #KneisnerM100. Only have to order the acrylic glas at weekend.

We're one step further, the #KneisnerM100 can now finally be programmed in a high-level language like #Pascal.
Say hello, m100 - see picture ;)
Not that we do it, but we can now. It was really tricky to put software to the hdd, but I found a tool called 22disk, which can write from and to #IMSTurboDOS.
