Die Klezmertradition ist eine uralte Tradition, die sich über Jahrhunderte weiterentwickelt hat. Nicht nur die Musik selbst ist anders als damals, sondern auch die Musiker und Instrumente sind inzwischen anders: von Aulos in der Antike bis zu der modernen Klarinette, durch die Integration von nicht jüdischer Musikstile wie Jazz und anderer moderne Musik. Klezmer ist heutzutage eine Art Weltmusik, die von jüdischen als auch nicht-jüdischen Leuten gespielt und genossen wird. Aber die Feierlichkeiten und der Respekt ist wie ursprünglich noch immer da.

for context a box of scores and ephemera for the eclectic klezmer cimbalom player and restaurateur Joseph Moskowitz were discovered in the attic of a relative last year and photographed and posted here. it contains a lot of his messy working scores in collaborating with other musicians and drafts of different pieces. not really organized yet but there's some cool stuff in here.
