On August 16, 1960 #USAF Capt. Joseph Kittinger set a new record for the highest #parachute jump and subsequent #freefall as part of the Project Excelsior program.
He jumped from a helium #balloon at a height of 102,800 feet.
Inspired by that in 2005, the Scottish duo Boards of Canada used footage of the jump to make the first musical video for their instrumental song "Dayvan Cowboy" included in their third album "The Campfire Headphase".
