Catlin has always been personable and never has been violent or skittish. But quite often, when I would go to pet her head, she would crouch down and look up with wide eyes, as if she was a bit scared. When I would to go stroke her sides and back as she passed by me, she would crouch down or swerve ever so slightly, avoiding contact. Never would run away, never would hiss or growl or swat. She would even sometimes come into the room where I was, when I called her - chirruping all the way, tail held high or at least not held close to her body or down low to the floor. She just...didn't feel super comfortable being petted.
I have picked her up frequently and held her for a little bit. But she would never relax, she'd soon look at the floor and I'd set her down gently on her feet so that she could go where she wanted to go.
She and her brother have been with me for just over two months.
Today, for the first time ever, Catlin came to me specifically asking for pets.
