Castle Lochleven im Loch Leven.

🇬🇧 Loch Leven Castle is located on an island in Loch Leven. It was built in the second half of the 13th century, but the striking central tower was built in the 15th century. In 1567/68, Mary Stuart (still King of Scotland until the summer of '67) was imprisoned in the castle, but managed to escape. However, she is said to still haunt the castle from time to time.

🇩🇪 Loch Leven Castle befindet sich auf einer Insel im Loch Leven. Es wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts erbaut, der markante Zentralturm entstand jedoch erst im 15. Jahrhundert. In den Jahren 1567/68 war Maria Stuart (bis zum Sommer '67 noch König von Schottland) auf der Burg inhaftiert, konnte jedoch fliehen. Angeblich spukt sie hier aber gelegentlich noch umher.

A few photos of #kinross where I lived for 10 years or so even I was a child and teen. My high school has been demolished apart from a small part of it and the footprint and playing fields are now a housing estate.
