Work in progress: Upping my wooden spoon game. Just finished the first round of sanding and wiped it down with some water to raise the grain.
Our favorite little spankee friend is gonna have nice surprise when she comes over next weekend.

Haven't built or posted much in a while (my unheated workshop isn't a nice place during a swedish winter), but here's a prototype fresh off the production line: A purple heart OTK paddle.
Never worked with purple heart before and it's hard to buy in Sweden, but managed to score some pieces. Not sure if this is the best use, because I think the purple color might shine more when contrasting against something, but it's still pretty cool. Pretty hard and heavy material, so this is gonna be a pretty severe implement. Possibly too severe in fact, we'll see.

Just finished a delightful round of quality assurance on these paddles by blistering unicorn girl's cute backside thoroughly, and the verdicts are in:
Top one, 20mm thick: Too thick. Doesn't feel completely right, more like a cheese board that ended up in the toy box by accident
Bottom one, slightly longer handle, 15mm thick: Just right. Heavy, but not too heavy. Looks better, feels better, easier to swing.
Bottom model is going into production. Who wants one?
"M, your straps were the best I've ever been spanked with! And it probably helps that you really know how to use them!"
This is the compliment I just received after using straps for the first time in my life. Straps that I made myself, the first I've ever made. Not gonna lie folks, my ego's shooting straight out of orbit. Someone needs to knock me down a few pegs, stat. This ain't sustainable.
One sleep later, and I think I might be completely in love with the grain pattern on this strap handle. The elm wood forms such pretty and dreamy lines.
Made twin straps out of a piece of scrap leather that I glued up grain side out and cut into 45mm strips. Thickness is a mean-ass 8mm. Handle made from scots elm (left) and french walnut (right). Big laundry list of things to improve still, but I had fun making them and I suspect me and my wife will have even _more_ fun using them on unicorn girl next time she comes over.
Walnut was a lot easier to work with for this, but the grain pattern on that elm is just mesmerizing.
