In 1982 on #ThisDayInHistory, 50+ #SexWorkers began a 12-day occupation of #HolyCrossChurch in #KingsCross. They demanded ends to #police racism & brutality and attacks on their families, calling instead for arrest of pimps. They helped a shift in #feminist attitudes to sex work.

Very limited coffee currently available at #KingsCross rail station #LondonUK for some unknown reason. Both Pret and Cafe Nero shut. Weird, and annoying as I was hoping for my first of the day here.

#Kunst in #London, auf dem Granary Square bei King's Cross, fotografiert im Januar 2016. Erdacht wurde der Schlittenstapel vom ungarischen Designstudio Hello Wood, mit Lichtinstallation von der Visual-Artist-Gruppe #Creatmosphere. Die #Skulptur hieß "Let it snow", war 11 Meter hoch und sollte an den Klimawandel erinnern. Einige der 365 #Schlitten wurden anschließend an Schulen gespendet. Ähnliche Weihnachtsbäume aus Holz wurden auch in Budapest und Manchester aufgestellt, die Materialien wurden anschließend gespendet bzw. für andere Objekte wie Bänke wiederverwendet.

#Art in London, at #GranarySquare near King's Cross, photographed in January 2016. Hungarian design studio #HelloWood created this #sculpture in collaboration with visual artist group Creatmosphere. The 11-metre #artInstallation, titled "Let it snow", aimed to highlight the impact of climate change. After the exhibition, some of the 365 #sledges used were donated to schools. Similar #ChristmasTree installations were built in Budapest and Manchester, with materials later donated or repurposed into objects like benches.
