After another day at sea we reach Macquarie Island where I am awakened by the sound of penguins outside my cabin. They surround the ship. On land we encounter King and Royal penguins, as curious about us as we are about them.

My photo of the juvenile King Penguins with their friend continues to get likes and boosts so maybe it's time for #PhotoOfTheDay to visit Saint Andrews Bay in South Georgia.

It's very hard to explain what it is like to come ashore prior to dawn to watch the King Penguins return to their 120,000 strong colony.
