after losing all the weight i have, my collarbone definition has returned. i’ve always enjoyed the aesthetic of these huge gaudy neck wreaths (my entire personality is just varying shades of loud) but for so many years they just didn’t lay right or feel right, so i didn’t get them.

this piece stopped me from across the room. stared at it. walked around the room. couldn’t rationalise it. but i really really really wanted it.

the salesperson put it on me, and i started crying. 1. it’s me as fuck. 2. it laid exactly how i wanted it to. even with a t-shirt it looked like it belonged.

i was pretty before the weight loss, no one can take that from me. it has taken me years to believe that. however: seeing your efforts pay off in ways you didn’t expect is really a beautiful thing.

if you are able, do something “frivolous” or something just for you today. you deserve it. you have deserved it this whole time.

It takes a lot of energy to hate. To search out the shortcomings of others and single them out for derision. A person has to make a concerted effort to draw a line, figuratively or not, that divides the rest of the world into people of whom they do or do not approve. Imagine the beauty they could leave in the world if they focused all that energy on creating and appreciating others’ creations. Or, even, on healing the hidden wounds that filled them with hate in the first place.
