In the early morning, the first thing I do on my work machine ( #windows11) is read a chapter of my current technical book (for work) on the #Kindleapp. Currently I’m rereading "Boost Your #git DX” and adding to my .config/git/config as I see new useful settings. Kindle automatically adds a desktop shortcut to itself on launch if one does not already exist. There’s nothing in the settings to control this. I don’t keep shortcuts on my desktop. I hate this.

@the_bookwolf @bookstodon I don't own a Kindle but I have many Kindle #books on my PC. There's a free downloadable #KindleApp for PCs. Maybe you could try that first ?

Tips for jail breaking the Kindle App. I've bought an ebook on Amazon and seem to only be able to read it via the Kindle App. I have a KOBO, no Kindle. This means I have to read the ebook on my phone, which is ridiculous. Is there are way to free the ebook-file from the Kindle App environment and turn it into a readable file format for KOBO?
