A very hot day yesterday. This is the view from the grave of Lee Alexander McQueen at Kilmuir on the Isle of Skye.
McQueen (1969–2010) was a British fashion designer and couturier. He founded his own Alexander McQueen label in 1992, and was chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001.
His funeral took place in London in February 2010. His ashes were later buried on Skye. His Skye ancestry had been a strong influence in his life and work.

Für den heutigen Tag haben wir uns eine Wanderung zum Fossile Beach in der Nähe des Old Man of Storr herausgesucht.
Im günstigsten Fall finden wir was, wenn nicht, haben wir uns bewegt.
Für die Hinfahrt haben wir uns die Passstraße von Uig nach Staffin herausgesucht, natürlich waren wir nicht allein und richtig voll wurde es, in der Nähe von Quiraing Steilkannte. Es heißt wieder einmal packen und weiter ziehen. Wir wollen diese Ecke von Schottland hier bei Mallaig verlassen und nach über 14 Jahren wieder mal auf die Isle of Skye abhängen.
Die letzten Jahre haben uns Hinweisschilder und auch Berichte von der mit Touristen überlaufenen Insel davon abgehalten. Es muss da zwischenzeitlich echt schlimm gewesen sein, vor allem für die Einheimischen, während der Hauptsaison.
