The parish church in Kilmartin, Scotland. Its about 30 miles south of Oban. This town is where some of my ancestors came from. They emigrated to Canada during the highland clearances.

The name Kilmartin means Church of St Martin.

Temple Wood (Half Moon Wood) stone circles, Kilmartin Glen, Scotland. "The site includes two circles (north and south). The southern circle contains a ring of 13 standing stones about 12 metres (40 feet) in diameter. In the past it may have had 22 stones. In the centre is a burial cist surrounded by a circle of stones about 3 metres (10 feet) in diameter. The northern circle is smaller In its centre is a single stone".

Went back to Kilmartin Glen 2 weeks ago and re photographed all the cairns and stones there and did the huge circular walk taking in each site in the glen.
Nether Largie Standing Stones Kilmartin Glen, about 3500 yrs old. All but one of the stones are cup-marked, with the distinctive central stone C decorated with 40 cupmarks and 3 cup-and-ring markings. The stones are nearly 3 metres tall.

Carnasserie Castle, one of the more recent historical attractions in the amazing Kilmartin Glen in Argyll.
