My second Kilkee Bay Swim (2025) completed. Sea swell was high, definitely a bit tougher and choppier than last year in parts but more rewarding too. Got to go in from Byrne's Cove instead of the pier. Excellent safety - jet skis and kayaks and coast guard boat shepherding us across the bay. And some of my swim group were waiting with fudge and warm hugs on the far side despite the drizzle.

Nearly one year on, they've just opened registration for the #KilkeeBaySwim in August this year and I'm one of the first through their virtual door. Fantastic experience last time, looking forward to it so much. Some of those I did the Ballyalla Mile with the other day will be going again so have physical, mental and moral support which helps a tonne.

Tomorrow I take on the #KilkeeBaySwim - looking forward to the challenge. Not done any kind of official/timed distance swim before. Joining in with swimming since moving here has given me new friends, a new community, and a new appreciation of my body - all that cushioning keeps me warm & buoyant - I'm a selkie πŸ’™ 🌊 πŸ‹ πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ
