Hello #StormAmy! Candles at the ready. Power packs charged. Blowing a hooley out there. Couple of minor garden casualties thus far - smashed plant pots that I hadn't secured as well as I thought. First real test of the repaired fence and replaced shed that #StormEowyn downed at the start of the year. Reports in the local whatsapp groups of minor road flooding further down the peninsula but thankfully we shouldn't need to stir out. Hope ye're all safe, warm and dry! #WestClare #Kilkee
My second Kilkee Bay Swim (2025) completed. Sea swell was high, definitely a bit tougher and choppier than last year in parts but more rewarding too. Got to go in from Byrne's Cove instead of the pier. Excellent safety - jet skis and kayaks and coast guard boat shepherding us across the bay. And some of my swim group were waiting with fudge and warm hugs on the far side despite the drizzle.
