A personal update: I stepped back from writing for much of last year to avoid burnout. I’m hoping to return to it soon, but my priority right now is helping my partner, their son, and their puppy rebuild their lives after escaping a manipulative and abusive situation.

Life remains complicated on my end as well, and I’m still searching for a living kidney donor while continuing dialysis.

This diabetes med has been a miracle for me even though I don’t have diabetes or even a hint of pre-diabetes. For me, off label, it’s slowing the fall of kidneys into final-stage failure (autoimmune - systemic sclerosis), and holding the high blood pressure that results from that down more reliably than several classes of blood pressure meds.

Thankfully, no UTIs as yet, but I’m well trained at prevention and mitigation from a childhood riddled with those.
