Adaptive Athlete Kevin Piette Carries Olympic Torch While Walking In An Exoskeleton

Who would have thought there would be someone cooler than Snoop Dogg carrying the Olympic torch. Enter Kevin Piette. The adaptive tennis star carried the torch in Paris with the assist of an exoskeleton. Piette, who was paralyzed in an accident 11 years ago, has been assisting as a pilot with Wandercraft, who debuted the robotic walking device in 2022. The exoskeleton is primarily used in hospitals for rehabilitation, particularly strokes, although a personal version is being developed. Besides tennis, Piette also competes in boxing, darts and table tennis.
