Been on Keto a little over 2 months now, and I'm happy to report I hit my first weight loss goal! Just weighed in this morning at 197lbs, which is 31lbs down from earlier this year. First goal was to lose 30lbs, eventual goal is to get down to 190lbs.
I feel like Keto worked well for me, but I'm going to start transitioning back towards a "normal" diet in mid June. Cardio exercise has become a lot easier after dropping this weight, so as long as I stay on top of that I don't think I'll put the weight back on - but I'm also willing to revisit the diet again if I start putting weight back on.
This really drives home something I already knew: health isn't a one-size-fits-all thing. I have friends who have lost weight with intermittent fasting and strictly vegan/vegetarian diets, but both left me with fatigue and concentration issues. I feel *great* on Keto (after 6 weeks I had a minor increase in cholesterol), but I know folks it hasn't worked for.
