I have no intention of noting, still less reviewing, the multitude of releases flooding forth from the Kpop industry.

Nevertheless, I'm posting about today's release from Kep1er because it illustrates a problem of mine.

I've written more than once about the value I place on the visual in Kpop.

This esteem for the visual creates a tension for me with MVs that provide pleasure for the eye but pain for the ear.

So with KILLA, I enjoyed watching the girls, especially Dayeon (0:49 - 0:52), but found everything about the music except for the prechorus rebarbative .

What a shame! I had been looking forward to this comeback, even though the styling of the concept photos -- which I liked -- should have forewarned me of an unwelcome sound on the way.
