McKenna "Ken" Pomeroy is a folk artist based in Tulsa, OK, a singer-songwriter of Cherokee origin, a balladeer, and an artist who brings a subtle country twang to her otherwise stripped down, old-school folk roots. That country touch is more pronounced with her arrangement choices on her 2025 album, Cruel Joke, although it was arguably there in her melodic flourishes previously, as well. Her songs tend to be introspective, autobiographical vignettes quite often, with a mid to low tempo and a melancholic edge. Her melodies have a relatively low-key profile, delivered in hushed tones and with a breathy quality in her voice, accompanied by an intricate guitar work.
