88. Subway 2

🧠 In my day 37 post of a frozen subway train, I said I'd tried to get this effect and here it is. I've included a few pics in this post to show different stages.

⭐ 'm really happy with the light streaks and moving train with still surroundings. In the second image (earlier in the train's approach), I think the Kelvinbridge sign pops more, then the other shows the still reflections of people on the platform.

➡️ I want more colour somehow but brightening shadows more distracted from the train.

81. Auction House

🧠 I thought the Otago Street Auction House looked quite grand from the Kelvin Bridge over the River Kelvin.

⭐ I like the composition and balance between light and shade.

➡️ Bottom half could maybe have been brighter but when I tried to enhance it it became too noisy.

Despite this being a B Listed building, the distinctive original leaded glass windows look like they will soon collapse if nothing is done to save them.

Fading Art Deco beauty on Great Western Road in the Kelvinbridge area of Glasgow. Designed by James Lindsay around 1930, this building was constructed to have shops of the ground floor and tea, lunch and smoking rooms on the upper floor. To a certain age group, it's perhaps most famous for being home to the legendary (or is that Infamous?) Clatty Pats.

A nice example of Victorian threshold mosaic and branding at the entrance to the former Cooper and Co grocery store on Great Western Road in the Kelvinbridge area of Glasgow. It's now home to a bar called Coopers, although it's been known by a number other names over the years.

Good morning Glasgow, from a chily but sunny Great Western Road in the Kelvinbridge area of the city.

Sunday morning on Great Western Road in Glasgow. In the foreground is George Gilbert Scott's 1870s St Mary's Cathedral, while in the distance is John Honeyman's 1860s Lansdowne Parish Church. Between them, the road is lined with blonde sandstone Victorian tenements. This means this view has changed little in the last 150 years or so.

The Great Western Road Bridge over the River Kelvin at Kelvinbridge in the West End of Glasgow. Built in 1891, it was designed by Bell and Miller, with the iron work being created by William Arrol. It replaced an earlier bridge, the remains of which can still be seen under the current one.
