I am so stressed about today being January 6th, that I haven't been able to finish Act I. But final edits ARE on Scene 3, so we're close.

At the end of Scene 2, you get Maxx waxing frustrated at U.S. politics from the POV of a FFXIV original character.

So please enjoy while I finish the rest! 💙

THE LINE

I will this night
In several posts upon his pad alight,
As if they came from several citizens,
Writings, all tending to the great opinion
Allag holds of his name, wherein obscurely
Kæsar’s ambition shall be glancèd at
And after this, let Kæsar seat him sure,
For we will shake him, or worse days endure.

THE FOOTNOTE

This is all a very pretty way of saying, “I’mma do a social media misinformation campaign!” And I think we all have a lot to be grateful for that social media’s only just starting to be a thing for us. Pray for your players, though; they’ve gotten so good at misinformation, some of them elected a Spongebob Squarepants-shaped Roegadyn who dyes his marmot-fur toupee every Loporrit’s favorite color to be their head of state.

Humans are a problem in every multiverse, I swear.

Earlier, I said I was writing a play called Julỹs Kaĩsar, set during the early middle Allagan Empire and based on our world's Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. That was only a partial truth. You see, while I am engaging in the act of writing the play for the first time within our universe, Julỹs Kaĩsar was written once before....long ago....during the Fourth Astral Era.

Let me tell you the story of Liam Meri'a Morvelet. Obviously, very little remains from the Fourth Astral Era, but fragments of Morvelet's plays have survived to grace our Seventh Astral Era with that genius's great talent.

Liam was believe to be an orphan once named Meri'a Morvin, Keeper of the Moon and scion of the Morvin clan. It was said that his father was not a Keeper but an elezen mage of some repute, but this was only hearsay.

The Sagolii Desert was a difficult place to live at this time in history, and its nations were not known for their generosity. Still Morvin dedicated himself wholly to his greatest passion: storytelling. He wrote play after play after play, eventually catching the attention of a local Satrapess named Liliza Liza'bat I. She became so enamored with his plays that she offered him a patronage. And Meri'a gladly accepted, changing his name to Liam Meri'a Morvelet--a name with the superficial appearance of nobility combined with a bastardized elezen naming suffix (in sardonic honor of his absent father) slammed into his own birth surname so hard they stuck.

Satrapess Liza'bat became Morvelet's benefactor and granted him ownership of the newly constructed Hourglass Theatre, which sat on the sands of Thanalan, just outside the walls of the city whose name has been lost to time, so that all who wished to attend a play--whether noble or beastman--could.

Slowly uploading all of my favourite paintings here.
This one is of my FFXIV Warrior of Light, Mina Talios. She is a tribal Keeper of the Moon who acted as her family's shamaness prior to leaving the forest to become an adventurer, and she is wholly devoted to her goddess Menphina.
