Man hat z. B. einen Unfall und Angehörige kommen nicht an die wichtigen Infos ran, die man im Passwortmanager gespeichert hat. Zum Beispiel ist der Linux-Computer durch ein Passwort gesichert, man verwendet 2FA durch Schlüsseldateien, Angehörige kennen sich technisch nicht aus usw.

In solchen Fällen kann ein gelegentlicher Papierausdruck hilfreich sein. Nahe Angehörige informiert man über den Aufbewahrungsort.

Migrated my Dad's setup from Proton Pass to Keepass (+ Syncthing) 👌🏽

Keepass is just so much faster and works with much less friction. He tried it and is also more happy with it. I'm always hesitant to change workflows for elderly but in this case it worked out great 👌🏽

Just now restored my mum's bookmark bar in Firefox lol (Ctrl + shift + b). She wasn't using bookmarks for months because the bar somehow was hidden and she assumed that Firefox had dropped the feature 😆😆😆😆😆

Next I'll also migrate my Mum away from Proton Pass to Keepass.
Then I can finally cancel the Proton Family nonsense 😄

#FydeOS, a fork of #ChromiumOS, which is #ChromeOS without all that Google stuff; it seems to run quite well on my old Lenovo IdeaPad Miix (i5-7200U, 2C/4T, 4GB RAM).

👉 It's certainly snappier than #Windows 10, and it boots in almost no time!
👉 It can run #Android (11) apps!
👉 Pleasant-enough #tablet UI/UX - touch-optimised UI on a tablet is exactly right!
👉 #Nextcloud and #KeePass work just fine.

🛀 we'll see how it fares in its intended application - #Jellyfin bath tub entertainment centre..

I kinda fancy the Lenovo Idea Tab TB336FU (8GB, Android 16 OTA) - it's quite affordable.

But before i try and budget for one of those, i'll try #FydeOS (fork of #ChromiumOS / #ChromeOS) on the old IdeaPad Miix 510 (4GB, 7th gen dual-core+SMT).

Now, that i run #Jellyfin, i can just use the browser or the #Android app, instead of sshfs. I only needed #Windows on the tablet, because #KeePass on #LinuxMint doesn't cope with touch input, #Gnome feels too heavy.

Noticed that KeepassXC fork KeepassChi apparently is in the process of changing to ChiPass, and that seems like a good thing in the longer term, the name kept on getting longer otherwise :)
