El eco de #Kawabata es profundo, como el de la campana que suena en las páginas de su novela “Dientes de león”; como el de la conversación que mantienen sus protagonistas. Sumergirse en sus narraciones propicia la desconexión…

“… a clear tranquil harmony.” #Kawabata #thousandcranes #1952Club

A year ago, for the #1937Club, I read "Snow Country" by Yasunari Kawabata. Whether, strictly speaking, it qualified for that year was up for debate; however, my edition also contains the novel "Thousand Cranes" and as that was first published in book form in 1952 I feel quite justified in having read it for this April's Club Week!

“…no word can say as much as silence.” #japaneseliteraturechallenge #kawabata

The start of the year always brings a treat in the form of the Japanese Literature Challenge, hosted by the lovely Bellezza, and 2025 is no exception! As I've hinted recently, I always try to pick books off the TBR to take part in reading events, and today I want to talk about a relatively recent arrival to the stacks - …

#1937Club or not? A fascinating title from Japan… #kawabata

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I'm pleased that I've been able to include translated works for the #1937Club, and today sees another one making its appearance on the Ramblings! This book was a last minute idea, and I'm perhaps cheating slightly with the date, as it's a work which was released in segments, then a complete version in 1937 and then revised for a later edition.

Kaggsy's Bookish Ramblings
📖 #LaCasaDeLasBellasDurmientes, muy buen libro de #Kawabata. Tan breve como bello. Despierta, tanto por su prosa como por lo que cuenta, enormes ganas de que hubiese muchas más páginas que leer. 7,5/10.
