Lauren Philpot is an amazing young local woman. She raises awareness and fundraises for Breast Cancer Network Australia in honour of her mum, Leigh, who passed away from breast cancer in 2023.

From 2023-2025, participation rates in a breast screening within Footscray was only 52.30% - lower than the statewide average.

I want to extend a huge thank you to the volunteers who are painting and shop-fitting the The Salvation Army Australia cafe we are setting up to support people doing it tough in Footscray.

Today, a kitchen is being installed. Another volunteer is making the signage, another is painting.
