Some betareaders pointed out there were too many characters and the political conflict was sometimes unclear. Painting a community that navigates complex scenarios with multiple competing factions is quite hard to do on the page, but I'll do my best ๐

Hopefully I'll be able to write it down through November. Can't wait to show you what I'm on.

๐พ Since I finished writing the first Section of the #Kanteletar novel, something has been bugging me with the technical problem I had set up at the center, but I couldn't quite figure out exactly what it was.
Thankfully, a #betareader has spotted it, explained it in detail and even suggested a solution that fits the narrative. I'm so grateful to have a community of fellow writers that can provide this kind of critical and technical feedback! ๐คฉ

The first section (about 18k words) is about the first steps of reappropriation of the #Corbusier-esque #library, setting the stage for the whole five-century trajectory. An architect friend has also helped me with the design, which is also featured in the book cover:

I'm god's #1 architect, and yet somehow I ended up with writing in discovery-mode for #Kanteletar's first story despite planning it as best as I could.
It's very frustrating and I hate it, especially because it means I'll have to fix a lot of things before translating it to English. I'm sure it will turn out to be good eventually (alphareaders are liking the characters and tension), but I hope this weird pitfall I ended up in doesn't keep me snagged for the other 4 stories.
๐พ I haven't posted updates on my #writing in quite a while, but I haven't stopped. In fact, I finally started the first draft of #Kanteletar, a 500-years chronicle of a fictional Finnish library from 2067 to 2500.
It's going to be five connected stories, not all #Solarpunk or #scifi but definitely adjacent. I'll post the first draft when it's ready (I want to first polish it with some betareaders), which should be in a few weeks.
Meanwhile, here's the first sketch for the cover!
