Statue of #Kannon #Bodhisattva, Tendai-ji, Iwate, #Japan, late #Heian period. Statue height 118cm. Katsura wood. A single wooden structure. It is made using a technique such as hatchet carving, where the marks of a circular chisel are left over almost the entire front of the body, and the robe and part of the body have horizontal stripes, giving it a modern look. It is estimated that it was built around the 10th or 11th century.
