Military expert #Marco_Eklund believes that the renovated garrison could become a base for the new #44th Army Corps, formed in #Karelia in 2024. This would mean the potential deployment of an additional approximately 15,000 soldiers in the region.
In parallel, active construction of a military camp for new artillery and engineering brigades is ongoing in #Kandalaksha (#Murmansk region).
◾️ The images reveal that last winter, #Russia began large-scale construction in a closed military settlement near the border with #Finnish_Lapland. Major earthworks were carried out, and several new buildings were erected in the #Lupche_Savino garrison, which is situated in the northwestern part of the city of #Kandalaksha, about 110 kilometers from the #Finnish border.
According to estimates, the two brigades in #Lupche_Savino will bring just over 2,000 troops to the area, #Eklund says.
