As soon as the rain started to taper off, we were immediately graced by the presence of two American Dippers, one brave little butterbutt (yellow-rumped warbler) foraging right near our feet, and this one chonker of a chipmunk.

We hiked up to Grassi Lakes in the rain, which wasn't altogether unpleasant, but the sun came out shortly after we got there, so we got to see the lakes in their full beautiful colours.
