Not only do I have two different generations of lacinato #kale going, but I noticed I must also have two different strains. The older set was grown from starts from the nursery and the younger set was grown from seeds from Southern Exposure Seed Exchage. The former are the typical lacinato kale you’d find at the grocery store. The latter has more tender, lighter green leaves with less of a tight curl. The website claims they are an OSSI variety. @gardening

wow! It's spring and the #serviceberry I almost killed has a few blooms on it and the #blueberry and #elderberry bushes are blooming as well. The #kale and #collards my bride planted are bolting because of the heat. The #dogwood is popping!

You ever have one of those days where you try something new in the kitchen, and end up just hitting it OUT OF THE PARK somehow? That was today for me.

I had a ton of lentils in the fridge that needed eating up, so I processed them into veggie "meat" balls, fried them up, and had them with leftover naan and a little plain yogurt. The bowl on the bottom here has a kale/cabbage salad with ginger dressing, cut up halo mandarins, and pecans from my tree outside. It was amazing.
