This tender father-daughter moment from a happier past is from a projection in Kain und Abel, with Joel Allison as Adam, and Sofia as Ada. The stuffed elephant isn’t a prop, it belongs to Sofia. She named it Aidi because I gave it to her as a premiere gift for her debut as Aida as a child!
This season, Sofia played the young versions of my characters Aida, Ada in Kain und Abel, and last night La Virtù as a child in the L'incoronazione di Poppea premiere!

… and on Saturday is the premiere of L’incoronazione di Poppea—that’s stressful, yes, but: Sunday is Theatertag, which means tickets for Kain und Abel are only 9€!
It’s our gift to the audience, as there won’t be another chance to hear this opera until the cpo CD is released! (We don't yet know the release date.)

Tonight we did the first corrections session for our “Kain und Abel” CD. We recorded the final orchestra rehearsals for the balance and other details, the actual recording took place during the premiere. There will be another corrections session on Wednesday, and then, hopefully, the Tonmeister will have all he needs to mix a perfect recording. Once the CD is out, learing the piece will be much easier for everyone who wants to perform it! I whish I had had that!
