Watched the #RoseParade on #KTVU2 because it was on & I didn't want to bother changing the channel.
SF's float (the 1st in 50 yrs in the parade) was one of the first. It won a prize for something but didn't look all that interesting to me. đ¤ˇ

Wow!!! What an exciting end to the Niners vs #Rams game tonight!!!
Was able to record & watch the end of the Niners v Rams game on #KTVU2 instead of being forced to watch it live on #PrimeVideo.
With the score tied 20-20, Pineriro kicked a 59 yd FG to give the Niners the lead 23-20 with 3 mins left to play.
With only 1 min left to play, the Niners D caused & recovered a fumble at their own 1 yd line.
With only 6 secs left, the Rams kicker Karty kicks a 48 yd FG to tie the game at 23-23.
In OT, Pineiro bounces a kick off the inside of the left upright for a 41 yd FG with 5:51 left to play to take the lead 26-23.
And, the Rams going for the TD (not the tie with a FG) go for it on 4th & 1 at the Niners' 11 yd line with 3:41 left to play in OT & the Niners D hold & stop the run. The Niners win!!!đđđ
Pineiro was 4 for 4 for FGs of 37, 20, 59 & 41yds.
If Moody was still our kicker the Niners would have lost this game.đ¤Ļ
Go Niners!!! đđđ
Yeah. Saw it on #KTVU2 this morning & it was a #NothingBurger! đ¤Ļ
The weather guy on #KTVU2 keeps talking about how unusually cold & cloudy it is for this time of year in the Bay Area.
Not in #EastCiCoCounty!
Yeah, it's cooler but it's currently sunny & about 60° @ 830 & the high is predicted for 85° by 4pm.
Sounds PERFECT to me & it beats the heck out of the +100° days we commonly have out here in summer but the prediction is for temps to rise into the 90's by the weekend which is still lower than "normal" around here
#KTVU2 news often runs a "Question of the Day" poll on various topics that they report on when they're on the air.
Today's poll was -- Yes or No:
**WILL SPEED CAMERAS CHANGE YOUR DRIVING HABITS?**
The result were 64% NO & 36% YES.
The problem with this poll is that the talking heads on the show were assuming that "Yes" meant that the respondent would drive slower to avoid getting a citation for driving 10+ miles over the speed limit.
However, they failed to realize that there are other ways the cams might change one's "driving habits."
In my case, the cams won't change the speed that I drive but they will change the way that I drive by changing the routes I drive in The City..
I will try to avoid driving where the cams are located whenever possible & I suspect other drivers will do the same. đ¤ˇââī¸
Just watched the #ChineseNewYearParade on #KGO7.
It was the 1st time KGO covered the parade -- #KTVU2 always covered it in the past -- & IMO KGO did a poor job of it
The commentators were out of synch in describing the various parade participants, poorly interviewed rhe Miss Chinatown winner w/no mention of the other participants & totally blew the coverage of the finale -- barely showing anything of -- Gum Loong-- one of the longest & biggest dragons -- & shot the fireworks too close up.
Very disappointing.âšī¸
Glad I've seen so many other CNY parades in the past on TV & in person, so it really didn't matter to me but I feel for those who were seeing it for the 1st time on TV or online who were not given a better idea of what the parade is actually like. Oh well . . .đ¤ˇ
#KTVU2 #AAPI #SF #Chinatown #ChineseFood #ChineseRestaurants
Just discovered this morning that KTVU has a dedicated AAPI webpage that you can find below.
There are not a lot of stories/articles presented there but what is there is very interesting & inciteful to me, as it should be to anyone interested in the Chinese American experience.
My favorite is Amber Lee's "Chinatown" which provides a unique "insiders" look into SF Chinatown -- it's history & it's restaurants & style of cooking Chinese food (which is unique to SF).
https://www.ktvu.com/video/1227370
Watching it brought back a lot of memories for me, particularly the banquets that my family held in the 50-60's at The Far East Cafe (in the video) & Shanghai Low Restaurant (long gone).
Of historical note are the video re: Bruce Lee's roots in SF (the Chinese Historical Society in SF is holding a special exhibit re: Bruce now) & the article re: Iris Chang's book, The "Rape of Nanking" (a copy of which is sitting on my bookshelf).
