So you're telling me when I now run a git push Codeberg tells my NUC at home to please run this container in #podman that does a bunch of magic including downloading nonfree 3D models and spinning up a virtual X-Session using Xvfb to run pcbnew and ray trace pretty please and then upload all of that back to Codeberg pages into a nice dashboard?

The only way I can see to top that is running the blender module to use hardware accelerated physically based rendering

The awesome @kicad team did release 10.0.0-rc2 today.
There were plenty of bugfixes since the rc1 release. Lets see if this rc2 can become the new stable version.

Basically, reusable circuits. Like blueprints in Factorio? I imagine people could share (or sell) things voltage regulation, buck converters, etc, that the analog-challenged folks like me could just plop down on their design and wire up.

This is a feature that is excellently timed - I need this for the Seequa Chameleon RAMPlus board. There are two variations of the board, one with an 8250 UART and one without - the rest of the board is pretty much identical.

I was faced with making an entirely separate project for the 8250 version, but now in 10 I can just make the 8250 version a Variant.

Depending on how flexible this feature is it could really let you customize and mix and match the various features of a project.

Anyone been playing around with 10 yet? I just downloaded the nightly RC2 and am gonna give it a shot.

It seems to be at least a solid start to a graphical review tool for PCB revisions done in kicad, with a slider to see changes between schematics and layouts, plus a BOM tracker!

Looking for advice on #git (#codeberg) + #kicad, boosts welcome.

When I update a schematic and update the PCB layout it shows a list of changes -- can I get something like that to compare git commits? If I had a list of changes to symbols, footprints, refdes numbers, values, and text fields it'd go a long way towards speeding up review.

I know there is an add-in for git, but it seems to compare layouts with images; often an easier to read list of changes is more appropriate.
