So far tonight - just in my spare moments at home (trying for new countries, not a score) - I’ve added the Cayman Islands, the Canary Islands and Bulgaria to my list of international Morse code contacts. #arrlDXcontest #ARRL #ARRLcontest #CWcontest #MorseCode #hamr #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #HamRadioContest #RadioAmateur #KE0FFT #KE0FFTcw #KE0FFTcontest

Added Curaçao to my list of countries contacted via ham radio tonight. Just a brief contact in Morse code. I believe it’s my first and only international contact using Morse.

I’m going to try to get through this book in #MorseCode before I listen to the audio narration.

I was offered a free copy of the audiobook by the author. Kind of cool in a nerdy kind of way. I likely wouldn’t have paid for something like this; but who knows, maybe the stories will be interesting enough to get me practicing copying #CW enough to improve my speed a bit.

I wonder how long it will take me to get through this set of mysteries. Hmmmm…

My sister made that hat for me. It’s my “lucky outdoor QRP / QSO hat.” It hasn’t failed me yet. #KE0FFT #KE0FFTcw #KE0FFTqrp
Memories: “On Sunday I was out playing radio for Winter Field Day. Learned a few things about setting up gear & what I need to bring next time & what I don’t. Also made my mandatory one Morse Code contact (actually another guy using low power in another Illinois state park about 150mi away). I did get through to a guy in Georgia who was able to come back with my callsign, but we weren’t able to confirm the contact due to atmos. Not bad for 5 watts and a wire!” ~ Feb 2nd, 2022 #KE0FFT #KE0FFTcw
Just worked K3Y/8 from my home QTH of Olney, IL. K3Y/8 (N8XI - Rick) was in Michigan - on 7.051MHz at 1527UTC. 5NN copy both ways. #KE0FFT #KE0FFTcw
I was sure that I had one of today’s #Morsle practice words wrong, but instead I learned a new vocab word. Never heard of a “kench” before. #KE0FFTcw ~ https://morsle.fun/
