KDE Dolphinissa on semmoinen puute, että ei voi muokata hover esikatselua, että kuinka iso kuva ja mitä tietoja haluaa pois tai näyttää. Pitäisi myös näyttää siinä kansion koon. Nyt näyttää sen sisältämien kohteiden määrän, vaikka asettaa että näytä se vitun koko. Se ei vaan tottele.

Still transitioning its a huge technical debt I have 10s of thousands of files that would need changing so I'm using a kind of hybrid system where I put the file as deep into the hierarchy as a I can then apply tags to the filename. At some point I tell myself I'll use the folder names to auto-generate tags for the files inside.

The software I use for file searching mostly is the filter tool in Dolphin and gnu find if I still cant find it. For general file management I use dolphin bc it has lots of configuration and aesthetic customization for power users.

Wisst ihr, was mich bei Windows richtig abnervt? Ist nur ne Kleinigkeit, aber so mega nervig beim Arbeiten.
Leider muss ich ja ab und zu mit Windows arbeiten. Und jedes mal stelle ich mir die gleiche Frage:
Warum zum Henker können die nicht einen Button im WindowsExplorer einfügen, mit dem man den Fensterinhalt ganz einfach duplizieren kann im selben Fenster? Nein, ich muss nochmal ein extra WindowsExplorer-Fenster aufmachen, nur um einen anderen Ordner öffnen zu können, damit ich beide Ordneransichten auf dem Desktop habe. In KDE Dolphin geht das schon lange und jedes mal vermisse ich es und brauche ne Denksekunde, bis mir einfällt, dass das in Windows nicht geht.... Mmpf.

The app shown is Dolphin, the file manager, which i tend to associate with KDE Plasma, but it isn't mutually exclusive like that. It's telling of my history as a linux User perhaps: Dolphin will browse the smb:// locations and allow for bookmarking/ add to places. it seems can ALways do that. Nemo i like but sometimes wont do the network. etc. Seem slike once Dolphin gets it, then the others get it. Upon reflection this seems a rather hunt-and-pecking means of getting there. That's terrible!  

i'm liking my current #mxlinux desktop environment configuration, except for this:

what is the quick and dirty way to make the icons into ... the reverse?
i guess i'd want "light" version. but i don't even know what setting to go for.

I tried kvantum but that didn't affect it.

oh, but i'm running the Cinnamon desktop !
Doh!

but, still. how to fix that?

If I click to open a folder in KDE Dolphin, Dolphin usually hangs for so long that I usually end up killing it. It doesn't seem to matter which folder.

However, when I turn off my internet connection, everything works fine. How can I find the cause of this? I think I've ruled out KDE Connect (for someone who had a similar problem, that was the cause), and Syncthing.

Fun fact: I started working on KDE plugin because I wanted to know my Skyrim install’s version number 😂

It was a fun and interesting project which taught me C++ but more over I clearly understood why pointers are used. I knew the textbook definition of pointers but it never “clicked” before this.
