Out of context, most readers probably wouldn't get this. Whichever airline transmitted this from a 737 MAX9 at or over Portland, it wasn't Spirit - not that kind of "repo". "Repo flight" in this case is repositioning. So who flies MAX9s and might reposition a plane to Seattle's King County Int'l Airport (a.k.a. Boeing Field) #KBFI? Maintenance shops at BFI say they work on biz jets smaller than 737. So this could be Boeing test pilots chatting with flight test base. 👀 #aviation #avgeek

When ATC says “yes” to the scenic route… I’ve left the first part of the U.S. behind and am now tracking Canada’s coastline toward Alaska. The best part: ATC cleared me for a detour: flying right over Seattle’s skyscrapers and looping around Vancouver instead of the direct path to Comox.

Boeing 777-9 flight testing today... They took off from Seattle Boeing Field #KBFI in 777-9 prototype N779XW as Boeing 001. The flight plan says they'll return to BFI. But with a plane designed to fly almost to the opposite side of the world, Washington State often isn't big enough for testing. The Boeing test pilots are out in Montana doing what looks like hunting for icing conditions in storm clouds as part of FAA certification testing. #aviation #travel #business #avgeek #PNW

Attention avgeeks in Midland/Odessa, Texas: Boeing 777-9 prototype N779XW is on its way from Seattle Boeing Field #KBFI to Midland Int'l Air & Space Port #KMAF. The reason isn't obvious yet, like crosswinds were for a recent flight to Amarillo. The test pilots could just be picking anywhere three hours away to let the plane be seen while performing FAA-required certification testing.
