What I wish K9 Mail would do:
When you forward an email, but the attachments haven't been downloaded, please ASK me what I want to do:
- forward without attachments
- download attachments now, then forward
- do not forward

Instead of quietly doing the first option.

Quelle est votre appli de mails open-source préférée sur Android ?

J'utilise K9-mail mais je trouve que la collecte des mails est devenue super lente, et passer d'un compte à l'autre prends trop de touches à mon goût.

Testé Fairemail que je trouve un peu trop compliqué...

Pas testé Thunderbird.

Wie kann das angehen das ich per #mutt an meine Mails von #vodafonemail rankomme, aber nicht über #k9mail auf meinem Handy. Ok, der Login über mutt dauert auch ganz schön lange, Aber wenn ich drin bin, dann kann ich ganz normal Mails lesen und versenden. K9-Mail schafft nicht mal die Anmeldung. Obwohl beide Systeme im WLAN sind.

@rl_dane Interestingly this does not appear to happen in #K9mail which Thunderbird (for android anyway) was originally based on.

The latest version of K-9 Mail (18.0) is as broken as version 17.0 and 17.1 are.
While the 17.x versions just crashed after showing the incoming mailbox version 18.0 is showing "offline" at the same time f-droid, obtainium, nextcloud notes and mastodon ☺ work fine.
Does K-9 Mail in these versions need access to Google or a Google account ?
Going again back to 16.1 and looking for a different E-Mail client on Android.

Am I supposed to switch from #K9Mail to #Thunderbird on Android nowadays? From the changelog of the latest releases they seem to be identical. Is it just a different branding? Is there any beneficial feature why I should switch? Can't find much on the current status except the initial announcements from 2022.

I don't use Thunderbird, but #KMail (part of #KDE) and #K9Mail (on Android).

Will / do either of these implement draft-ietf-mailmaint-unobtrusive-signatures ?

If so, let me know how to opt-in.

If not, let me know how to fund an effort.

Hat GMX irgendwelche Einstellungen geändert? Seit gestern (oder vielleicht vorgestern) kann ich keine Mails mehr mit K9-Mail über IMAP abrufen. Die Konfiguration der App stimmt aber mit den Empfehlungen von GMX überein.
