Jutta Hipp with Zoot Sims
...and with Ed Thigpen (OK, @octothorpe ?).
Thigpen played with Hipp on the previous release I've posted with her, and given she only recorded in the US in 1954-57, and then stopped...well, there's just not a lot out there.
Having read up on her in the meantime, a rather tragic career...too bad.
But - this is great regardless. Also features Jerry Lloyd (trumpet), Ahmed Abdul-Malik (bass).

I didn't know much Jutta Hipp when I purchased this, and it's a rather nice live set—her first for Blue Note—in a classic trio with Peter Ind on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums.
Hipp had a strangely short career...and undeservedly so, based on the evidence!

Swinging into the weekend with the great Jutta Hipp. Alas, her "career" as a jazzer was short-lived (Leonard Feather - no matter his merits - was a pretty toxic dude in today's terminology, it seems).
