Thousands in Germany protest the rise of the far right ahead of next month's election
Tens of thousands of Germans have protested in Berlin and other cities against the rise of the far-right, anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany party ahead of the Feb. 23 election. Activists said Saturday they hoped the rally also would draw attention to other far-right parties in Europe and the new administration of U.S. President Donald Trump. The protests took place while AfD opened its election campaign with the backing of Elon Musk. The opposition center-right Union bloc tops pre-election polls, followed by AfD. The Union and other mainstream parties in Europe's largest economy have declared they will not work with the far-right party.

Sara DI am distressed and heartbroken to learn that my uncle, someone that I knew as an intelligent and thoughtful man, has gone full MAGA. He has hatred for Fauci, spouts lies about vaccines, and thinks DeSantos would make a good president. My uncle is a Jewish man living in New York City. I don't understand how this could have happened.
My mother, who is a Democrat, has tried to deal with him as simply family (no politics). She might be reaching the end of her rope with him.
