Good: found the LED headlamp I bought years ago and put it to use.

Bad: it needed using because I had to explore the attic to figure out why the ventilation fan wasn't running.

Good: fan's thermostat trigger was just set all the way up for some reason, easy fix!

Bad: fan makes disgruntled noises and only very, very slowly turns when it is kicked on, even after making sure there's nothing clogging it. Seems like a recipe for a fire later. Set it back to 'all the way up' (no off switch), calling HVAC people tomorrow.

Good: remembered to replace the AC filter while I had the ladder out.

Bad: clambered all over the attic in my good around-the-house pants, oops.

Grinding skirting board is the worst. 😠

It sucks, and also my hands feel as if they vibrate by themselves.

Hmm yea I think it's time to replace the sump pumps. Seems the standard is anywhere from 7-10 years, and ours has multiple hallmarks of “more likely to die sooner instead of later" (lots of minerals in the water, high water table, runs a lot, lack of prior maintenance).

And will be 10 years old next year anyways. 😬

This week I replaced my bath lock box against a bath safety lock that allows easy latching.

This task took me mere 12 years.
